Introduction to Hindustani Vocal Music 2 - Part Series

£47.00

Are you someone who feels deeply drawn to the richness and beauty of North Indian Raga music but just doesn’t know where to begin? Maybe you’ve dabbled in Indian vocal music before—years ago, or maybe you’re completely new to it, but you can feel a heartfelt desire to immerse yourself in this deeply rich musical tradition.

Perhaps you’ve tried practicing on your own, following along to online videos, or listening to recordings, but you’re not quite sure if you’re singing the notes correctly or how it correlates to the form.

With 20 years of teaching experience, I have come to understand a lot of these questions and I now see myself as a bridge between this ancient culture and the world that we live in. I was born and raised in London and studied Hindustani music from a young age whilst immersing myself in the world and sounds around me.

Over time and going to Kolkata to study with my Guru - Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty for the first time in 2000 changed things for me. I was lucky to have studied for years prior to that, but I didn’t fully understood what I was learning and why.

Studying with a living maestro created a new foundation and relationship to what I was singing. Over time, learning, performing and teaching music that has it’s roots in both Ragas and devotional music became a long term love!

Keeping all of this in mind, I have developed a transformative new offering for anyone seeking to develop their voice, musicianship, and understanding of North Indian Vocal Music. Whether you’re a complete beginner or have some prior experience, this series is designed to help you connect with your voice and develop clarity through connecting to the 4 pillars that Ranjana basis her teachings on:

  • Indian Voice culture

  • Understanding the different vocal forms
